Business identification signs are simplest when your logo, colours and fonts are already set up for print. We use your brand files to produce printed signboards, door vinyl and nameplates that look the same as your business cards and flyers. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe keeps every item colour-consistent.
Business identification signs tell visitors, couriers and customers that they have arrived at the right place. They cover the practical signs on and around a premises: entrance name boards, gate and boundary-wall signs, street number signs, projecting blade signs and small plaques beside the door. The aim is quick, unmistakable recognition, so a good identification sign uses the business name and logo clearly, sits where people naturally look and matches the rest of the brand.
They differ from promotional signage in that they carry little or no sales message — the job is to identify, not to advertise specials. Compared with a large fascia or building name sign they are usually smaller and closer to eye level, which makes them a cost-effective way to make an industrial unit, home-based practice or office in a shared building easy to find.

Supplying measurements
Measure the wall, gate or pillar space available and note the distance from where visitors will approach. A photo of the entrance with a tape measure or known object in frame is very helpful.
Artwork requirements
Supply your logo as a vector file (PDF, AI, EPS or SVG) with fonts outlined and colours in CMYK or Pantone. If you only have a low-resolution logo, we can quote to redraw it before production.
Survey and installation
Most identification signs are fixed at or slightly above eye level on brick, plaster or steel, and can be installed without a survey if clear photos and measurements are provided. Projecting signs over a walkway or anything requiring power may need a site survey first.
Maintenance
Wipe panels with a soft cloth and mild soapy water when they look dusty. Avoid pressure washers and solvents close up, as these can lift vinyl edges.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an identification sign and a shopfront sign?
A shopfront sign is usually the main fascia above a retail entrance; identification signs are the smaller name, number and entrance signs that help people find you.
Can you match signs to our existing branding?
Yes, if you supply your brand colours and vector logo we produce the signs to match.
Is a projecting sign better than a flat sign?
On a street where people walk past along the building, a projecting sign is visible from further up the pavement; a flat sign works best when people face the entrance.
