LED video walls give events and venues a big-screen backdrop that works with printed staging and banners. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe advises on video wall size and mounting and prints the surrounding graphics. Electrical work on LED video walls is by a qualified electrician.

LED video walls are large displays built from many LED cabinets fitted together into one seamless image. They are used as stage backdrops, control room displays, retail feature walls, corporate lobbies and event screens, and can be built in standard widescreen shapes or custom sizes, curves and corners.

A good LED video wall has cabinets calibrated so colour and brightness match across the whole wall, with no visible joins, and a processor that handles the content source properly. Compared with an LCD video wall, LED has no bezels between panels and suits larger walls, whereas LCD is often more economical for smaller walls viewed close up.

Supplying measurements

Tell us the wall size you would like, the viewing distance and what will be shown (presentations, video, live feeds). Photos and dimensions of the space, including ceiling height, help us propose a configuration.

Artwork requirements

Content should be produced at the wall's total pixel resolution, which may be an unusual aspect ratio. We provide the exact resolution so your designers can create content that fills the wall correctly.

Survey and installation

Video walls need a structure designed for their weight, with engineering input where required, and electrical and data work by a qualified electrician. Permanent installations usually need a site survey before a formal quotation.

Maintenance

Keep the wall dust-free and well ventilated, and avoid knocking cabinet edges during cleaning. Keep spare modules from the same batch so replacements match the rest of the wall.

Frequently asked questions

Can a video wall be curved?

With suitable cabinets, yes. We confirm options for the size and radius you need.

Can it show several sources at once?

Yes, with a processor that supports multiple windows.

Is an LED wall suitable for a small meeting room?

Only with a fine pixel pitch; for small rooms, LCD can be the better value.
