Stainless steel letters provide a premium finish that pairs well with high-quality corporate print. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe supplies brushed or polished stainless letters alongside annual reports, folders and other executive print. It is a consistent look from the boardroom wall to the brochure.

Stainless steel letters are dimensional letters made from stainless sheet, either flat-cut or fabricated with faces and returns, in brushed (satin), mirror (polished) or coated finishes. They are chosen where a premium, durable look is important: corporate headquarters, hotels, law firms, upmarket retail and building entrances. Stainless steel resists corrosion well, holds a crisp edge and works beautifully with halo lighting, where LEDs behind the letter create a glow on the wall.

Against aluminium, stainless steel is heavier and usually costs more, but it gives a richer finish and stands up better to knocks. A good stainless set has invisible welds, consistent grain direction on brushed faces and a grade of steel suited to the environment — coastal or industrial sites may call for a more corrosion-resistant grade, which we confirm on the quotation.

Supplying measurements

Measure the wall or panel area and note the surface type. Tell us whether the site is coastal or industrial, as this affects the steel grade we recommend, and include a photo of the location.

Artwork requirements

Send vector artwork (PDF, AI, EPS or SVG) with outlined fonts. For mirror finishes we may recommend slightly bolder typefaces, as fine serifs are harder to polish evenly.

Survey and installation

Stainless letters are usually mounted on threaded studs or stand-offs from a template. Heavier or illuminated sets on façades generally need a site survey before a formal quotation, with any power connected by a qualified electrician.

Maintenance

Wipe in the direction of the grain on brushed finishes using a soft cloth and stainless-safe cleaner. Remove fingerprints and water spots on mirror finishes regularly to keep the reflection clear.

Frequently asked questions

Brushed or mirror stainless — which is better?

Brushed hides fingerprints and scratches better and suits most applications; mirror is more striking but needs more frequent cleaning.

Can stainless steel letters be lit?

Yes, halo lighting is the most common choice, creating a glow behind each letter.

Is stainless suitable near the sea?

It can be, but the grade matters. We recommend a grade suited to coastal exposure on the quotation.
