Vehicle direction signs need large print and reflective materials so drivers can read them at speed. We print reflective vinyl on aluminium or Chromadek boards for estates, depots and sites. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe sizes text to viewing distance.
Vehicle direction signs guide drivers within private property: into the right entrance, to deliveries, visitor parking, loading bays, drop-off zones and exits. They are post-mounted or wall-mounted at decision points along internal roads and car parks, and use large lettering, bold arrows and few words so they can be read from a moving vehicle.
A good vehicle sign is placed early enough for a driver to react, uses retroreflective material for night use, and is consistent with the road-style conventions drivers already know. Unlike pedestrian signs, which can list many destinations, vehicle signs should carry no more than a few items, and they differ from public road signs in that they are on private land and set by the property owner rather than a road authority.

Supplying measurements
Send a site layout or sketch of the internal roads with the destinations to be signed, plus photos taken from the driver's position at each turn. Note road speeds and whether roads are used at night.
Artwork requirements
List the destinations and any colours or symbols already used on site. We set out layouts with large, simple text and arrows; your logo can be added as vector artwork if needed.
Survey and installation
Signs are generally post-mounted with concrete footings, set back from the road edge and at a height that is visible over parked vehicles. A site survey helps confirm positions, and underground services should be checked before digging.
Maintenance
Wash signs periodically so reflective material works properly in headlights, and check posts after any vehicle impact. Replace faded or damaged faces promptly so instructions stay clear.
Frequently asked questions
Do vehicle signs on private property have to follow road sign rules?
Not strictly, but using familiar shapes, colours and arrow styles makes them easier for drivers to understand.
How large should the lettering be?
It depends on the speed and the reading distance; we size layouts so they can be read in time to react.
Are reflective signs necessary?
For any road used after dark, retroreflective material is strongly recommended.
