Prohibition signs are printed with the standard red symbol so their message is understood instantly. We print prohibition signs as stickers, boards or aluminium plates. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe produces any quantity from a single sign to a full site pack.

Prohibition signs forbid actions that could cause harm: no smoking, no open flames, no unauthorised entry, no pedestrians, no cellphones, no eating or drinking, and similar restrictions. They are recognised by a black pictogram inside a red circle with a diagonal bar, sometimes with a supporting text panel, and are placed where the restricted action is likely to happen.

A good prohibition sign is unmistakable, visible from where someone would make the decision, and made from a material suited to its location. They differ from mandatory signs, which require an action, and from hazard warning signs, which describe a danger; prohibition signs simply say “do not”. Combining a prohibition with a short reason, such as “no smoking: flammable materials”, often improves compliance.

Supplying measurements

Tell us which prohibitions apply, where each sign will be fixed and the distance from which it needs to be read. Photos of doors, gates or areas help us suggest the right size and format.

Artwork requirements

Standard prohibition symbols are used, so no artwork is required for standard signs. For custom wording or combined boards with your logo, send the text and a vector logo and we prepare a proof.

Survey and installation

Signs are fixed with screws, adhesive or brackets depending on the surface, and can be supplied ready to fit or installed for you. Place them at the point of decision, such as doors, gates and the edge of restricted zones.

Maintenance

Clean signs with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Replace any sign that has faded, been damaged or no longer matches the actual restriction in that area.
