Cafe signs look best when they share the same style as your cups, menus and loyalty cards. We print cafe window graphics, menu boards and A-frame inserts to one design. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe can print your loyalty cards and stickers too.

Cafe signs cover the name sign on your frontage plus the smaller pieces that make a coffee shop feel inviting: projecting blade signs, window lettering, menu boards and pavement signs. Cafes often rely on foot traffic and regulars, so the signage needs to be friendly, easy to spot from the pavement and clear about what you serve.

A good cafe sign is usually smaller and more personal than a restaurant fascia, with a strong logo, a warm finish and a design that suits a compact frontage. A projecting sign is often more effective than a large fascia because it catches people walking along the shopfronts, while window graphics can show opening hours and specials without blocking the view inside.

Where it works well

  • Name sign above a cafe or coffee shop entrance
  • Projecting blade sign for pavement visibility
  • Window lettering for hours, Wi-Fi and specials
  • Counter and menu wall branding
  • Kiosk or coffee-cart branding
  • Cafes inside offices, bookshops or garden centres

Materials and finishes

  • Painted or powder-coated aluminium blade signs with brackets
  • Acrylic or timber-effect name panels
  • Cut vinyl or printed window graphics
  • Chalkboard-style or printed menu boards
  • Small 3D letters for a feature wall

Lighting options

  • Small illuminated blade or lightbox
  • Neon-style LED for a logo or feature word
  • Non-illuminated with external spot lighting

What affects the price

  • Number of sign items in the package
  • Size of the fascia and projecting sign
  • Double-sided versus single-sided projecting signs
  • Illumination, if any
  • Window area covered and type of vinyl
  • Fixing method and access at the site

Supplying measurements

Measure the available fascia area and the wall where a projecting sign could be fixed, including the clearance height above the pavement. Photos of the frontage and any window you want lettered help us size everything in proportion.

Artwork requirements

A vector logo (PDF, AI, EPS or SVG) with outlined fonts gives the cleanest result on small signs and window vinyl. If your logo exists only as an image, we can recreate it, and we can lay out menus or hours text for you.

Survey and installation

Projecting signs need a solid fixing surface and enough clearance over the walkway, so a quick site check may be needed. Window graphics are applied to clean glass and can usually be done with minimal disruption to trading.

Maintenance

Clean window graphics with a soft cloth and mild soapy water, avoiding scrapers on the vinyl. Check projecting sign brackets from time to time, especially after strong wind.

Frequently asked questions

Is a projecting sign worth it for a small cafe?

Often yes, because it is visible to people walking along the shopfronts, not just those directly opposite.

Can you put our menu on the window?

Yes, in cut or printed vinyl. Keep it short so it stays readable from the pavement.

Can we do the signs in stages?

Yes. Many cafes start with the main sign and add window and menu graphics later.
