Aluminium composite signboards give a flat, rigid surface that takes print beautifully. We print and cut ACM boards to size for shopfronts, offices and directional signs. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe can route shapes and add trays.
Aluminium composite signboards are made from two thin aluminium skins bonded to a plastic core. The panel is flat, rigid and light, which makes it one of the most widely used materials for shop signs, fascia panels, cladding and printed boards. Composite can be routed into shapes, folded into trays and printed directly or with vinyl.
A good composite signboard uses the right panel thickness and core for its size and location. Larger signs may need a subframe so they stay flat in wind. Compared with Chromadek, composite gives a smoother, more premium surface. Compared with solid aluminium, it is lighter and more economical at large sizes.

Supplying measurements
Measure the full area the sign will cover and note any obstructions, such as gutters, lights or windows. Photos taken straight on with a reference measurement help us size the panel.
Artwork requirements
Send vector artwork (PDF, AI, EPS or SVG) with fonts outlined and colours specified in CMYK or Pantone. Where only a low-resolution logo is available, we can redraw it for large-scale use.
Survey and installation
Small panels can be fixed directly to a wall, while large or high signs need a subframe and a site survey before quotation. Illuminated versions need connection by a qualified electrician.
Maintenance
Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent to keep the surface bright. Avoid solvents, which can damage printed or painted finishes.
Frequently asked questions
What is a tray sign?
A tray sign has the edges of the composite panel folded back to create a box shape, which looks neater and hides the fixings.
Can composite be used outdoors?
Yes. It is made for outdoor signage and cladding, provided it is fixed correctly.
Can letters be cut out of composite?
Composite can be routed into letters and shapes, and can be backed with acrylic for lighting.
