Emergency information signs are printed on photoluminescent material so they glow when the lights go out. We print exit, assembly point and fire equipment signs for offices, factories and schools. Boldmedia Print Zimbabwe can also print evacuation plans.
Emergency information signs show people what to do and where to go in an emergency: emergency exits and escape routes, assembly points, first aid stations, eyewash and safety showers, emergency stop buttons, and fire equipment such as extinguishers, hose reels and alarm call points. Escape and first aid signs use white symbols on green, while fire equipment signs use white symbols on red.
A good emergency system is continuous, so a person following the signs from any point reaches a safe exit, and stays visible if the lights fail, which is why photoluminescent material is often used. These signs differ from hazard and prohibition signs in that they guide action during an emergency rather than prevent one, so placement along routes and at equipment is critical.

Supplying measurements
Send a floor plan showing exits, escape routes, equipment and assembly points, or list what is needed per floor. Note ceiling heights where hanging exit signs are considered.
Artwork requirements
Standard emergency symbols are used, so no artwork is needed for standard signs. For evacuation plans, send a floor plan (PDF or CAD drawing) and we lay it out with routes and equipment marked for your approval.
Survey and installation
Signs are placed along escape routes, above exits and at equipment, typically following a layout from your safety officer or fire consultant. Signs can be supplied for your team to fit or installed for you, and any illuminated signs are connected by a qualified electrician.
Maintenance
Keep photoluminescent signs exposed to normal lighting so they charge, and do not cover or paint over them. Check during routine fire equipment inspections that every sign is present, visible and undamaged.
Frequently asked questions
What does photoluminescent mean?
The material absorbs light and glows for a period in darkness, helping people find exits if the lights fail.
Can you make evacuation plans for our building?
Yes, from your floor plan we can lay out a plan showing routes, exits and equipment for approval.
Do you certify our emergency signage?
No, we produce and install the signs; compliance sign-off sits with your safety officer or fire consultant.
